Terwilliger Pappas breaks ground on Berewick apartments

Berwick-HeaderTerwilliger Pappas has begun development of its four-building, 275-unit apartment community in Berewick in Steele Creek.

Solis Berewick will be adjacent to the Berewick Town Center’s village green, near the community’s retail center, which is anchored by a 53,000-square-foot Harris Teeter slated to open next month. Under the name Berewick Apartments LLC, the firm closed on its purchase of 13.8 acres in Berewick for $4.7 million this summer.

Tom Barker, east region president for Terwilliger Pappas, said in a statement the site’s proximity to Lake Wylie and the airport, as well as the area’s large employment base, was attractive for multifamily development.

Solis Berewick’s amenities will include a clubhouse, a poolside pavilion with a fire pit, a fitness center, and a pet park. It’s one of several apartment communities under development with the Solis brand, including Solis Southline, a 300-unit multifamily project along the Lynx Blue Line that is scheduled to open in the spring.

Terwilliger Pappas is partnering with Cigna Realty Investors on the Berewick development. Citizens Bank is providing construction financing. The development team includes architect Cline Design Associates, with Rule Joy Trammell Rubio providing interior design services. LandDesign is the landscape architecture and civil engineering firm for the community, and the general contractor is Fortune Johnson.

Solis Berewick will deliver its first homes and amenities by mid-2017. The entire community is slated for completion by early 2018.

Berewick Town Center is the commercial component of the planned 1,600-home Berewick community developed by Pappas Properties. Berewick Town Center is being marketed by Brian Roth of Pappas Properties, who represented Pappas Properties in the sale of the land to Terwilliger Pappas.
